My Little Piece of Geneva

Welcome to Lynden, Washington! To get an idea of the city, click here.
Regarding the churches, within city limits we have Christian Reformed--five of them, Protestant Reformed, United Reformed, Reformed Church in America, Netherlands Reformed, Orthodox Christian Reformed-formerly, American Reformed, Faith Reformed, First Reformed, Roman Catholic, Calvary Chapel, United Methodist, Baptist-I can think of at least three, Christ the King, Hope in Christ, Word of Life (Pentecostal), Hope Lutheran, Church of Nazarene, and a bunch of other independents. It's no wonder we are the most churched city in the world.

  3. We noticed that when we stayed in Lynden last September for a weekend - the same time we visited your church. It's amazing! I wonder though - what's the population number of Lynden and is there a "number" of how many people actually attend church? I'd be curious to know the percentage of Lynden-ites who consider themselves Christian?

  4. Hi Nicole,
Thanks for the response. Well, considering the population of the city, and the number of churches, most of which are good sized congregations (one at least claims 1,500 on the roles), I would say most of the city lays claim to being Christian. From a Reformed perspective, considering the great number of Reformed churches, and that most are also quite large, a more interesting question might be how many are actually holding to their confessional Reformed roots? I will let others answer this question.
